Hi there Jay
Thanks for your email. To practice as a massage therapist in Australia you need to be eligible for indemnity insurance. This is generally available to people who have completed a Diploma in Massage (level 5) and are eligible for recognition under a professional association. A diploma in terms of hours of training equates to approx 1000 hrs. A Certificate IV is around 600 hours. Look at the content for each on our website and compare this to the training you have received, then I suggest you contact VetAssess to determine if your qualification is equivalent. This does cost. Otherwise you are facing looking for work under the sponsorship of a practitioner for professional indemnity - not commonly found. The links to VETAssess are below. The only other alternative is when you arrive you can contact a vocational training institution such as TAFE to have your skills assessed and any gaps updated.
